The Caswell HarpSound™ System
with LR Baggs & KK Sound

I LOVE how this system sounds! It totally outperforms the usual dots and mics-in-the-back. When I first developed it, my friend and Caswell Harps office diva, Tesser (she is also, by the way, a professional engineer, having toured with such bands as the Old Blind Dogs), tested it out at a local music venue. I played the harp on stage and she worked the house board. Her comment was, "It was spooky. As I brought it up, I couldn't tell when your live sound left off and the house sound started! Definitely not what I expected from an amplified harp."

The HarpSound System was configured by myself and the engineers at LR Baggs (One of the premier choice for touring musicians, their gear is beautifully made and rock-solid) in southern California. It utilizes a customized pair of their patented, award-winning iBeam transducers. Totally unlike the little “dots” or “strips.” they provide a studio-quality fidelity for the most natural acoustic tone available from a pickup. A well-placed pair of iBeams approaches the quality of a pair of fine studio mics on your harp.

I've also configured a great little HarpSound Lite for less expensive harps. It consists of a customized pair of KK Sound's Big Twin transducers installed in a similar manner to the iBeams. KK Sound builds wonderfully engineered pickups in Oregon and have always delivered great value for the money.

All Caswell Harps can receive the HarpSound system, and all Hybrid Series harps are pre-drilled ready for installation. There is no installation charge when you order a HarpSound System with your harp. If you want to install it later, we can do it for you for a nominal fee or tell you how for free. The Caswell HarpSound User's Guide is included with every HarpSound System.

Choose from the following configurations:

• The Basic - Consists of a customized pair of iBeams carefully placed on the inside of the soundboard with a strapjack (plug) mounted in the base, and a studio-grade cable to reach from your jack to the direct box (DI).

• The Active Basic - To the above add L.R. Baggs’ great little mic preamplifier in the strapjack (no DI required), and a volume wheel which mounts on the upper back hole.

• The Onboard Mix - Instead of the strapjack mic pre you get an onboard mixer mounted either inside the box near the upper back hole or through the string side in easy reach of your left hand. This allows you to tailor the highs and lows, the volume, the phase, and to sweep the “mud” range with a notch filter (powerful anti-feedback tools).

• The Pro - The Onboard Mix is replaced with the Para Acoustic Direct Box, one of the best mic pre/mixer/direct boxes in the industry. It sits on the floor and has all the controls of the onboard mixer plus 5-band EQ, a balanced XLR output, and more. Its ability to address real-world sound problems is unparalleled in a DI.

• HarpSound Lite - Consists of a customized pair of KK Sound's great Big Twin transducers.

• HarpSound Lite Pro - Add the amazing Para Acoustic Direct Box to the KK pair. This allows you to fix most sound problems on the fly!
