Telynar™ Strings

All Telynar Strings are made to a uniformly high standard (±.002 in most cases) with over thirty year of hands-on experience. This, combined with computer-assisted design, helps insure that these are the best strings you can put on your harp. Great care is given to providing an even, full sound. In many cases, our strings are an improvement on the original specifications.

If the soundboard is the heart of a harp, its strings are its soul. I was one of the first harp makers (along with my friend, Mark Bolles) to make my own stringing machine since I knew that getting the right string on each harp was of paramount importance. Non-pedal harps vary so much I had to learn quickly what makes a stringing work–as consistent a feel as possible, and a tension appropriate to the type of harp and its player.

Custom Strings - Performers' desires change over time, so what they want in a string does also. That keeps me researching new materials and configurations, and continually improving my methods of evaluation. But I enjoy this process. It's all part of the quest for the perfect harp. So if you want something different in your stringing, let me know. I'll be happy to work up a custom string chart for you, whether or not you order your strings from me. If you do, you'll receive a discount on your first full set.

No-Fault String Guarantee - In addition, I'll let you exchange, at no charge, up to three wound strings that aren't working for you. I know that once you see what a finely-tuned stringing (no pun intended) can do for you, you'll be back.
